Family literacy is about how families use reading, writing and communicating to work, learn and play together- both at home and in their community. It is about families taking time to develop relationships. Every day activities that parents share with their children are not only learning opportunities for the child, but the parents as well. Family literacy programs at the Calgary Learning Centre help families take time to talk, read, sing, play, cook and learn together.
