Bruce McAllister – If you know Bruce McAllister, you know he is all about family and community. If it’s happening in Chestermere and area, chances are you will find Bruce and his family close by. Bruce has lived in Chestermere for the past eight years and during that time has participated, or hosted many charitable functions within the region. There are countless community causes that he is passionate about. Sports, literacy, seniors events are especially important. He has even jumped into the icy water on a minus 30 degree winter day to raise money for the local youth group.
Bruce’s highest priority has always been his family. With three children ranging from 17 to three weeks he has spent countless hours at the hockey rink and has made many trips to and from the local dance studio. Bruce’s wife Lisa is probably as well known in the community as Bruce for being a fantastic hairstylist at their
home-based business.
Most people know Bruce as a television personality. For the last decade he has worked for Global Television, and the last seven as the host of the morning news. He’s been fortunate to have seen much of the country through this career, broadcasting in Winnipeg, Halifax and Victoria. He has spent 25 of his 40 years in Alberta and is still kidded about the first show he hosted, “Barter with Bruce” on Monarch Cable 10 in Medicine Hat. He brings the same personal approach to politics that he brought to the television — common sense, passion, and a quick wit.
“I firmly believe The Alberta Advantage was created by the people of this province and supported by government.” Somewhere along the way it seems our current government got those two things backwards. I’m excited to run for the Wildrose Party. A party committed to listening to and consulting with the very people that make this province special. I would be honoured to represent the people of Chestermere/Rockyview in Edmonton.”
